Ben plans on trying out for the USA sled hockey team in the spring of 2016, with hopes of serving his country further in the 2018 Paralympics

Ben Maenza lost both of his legs above the knee in October of 2010 performing combat operations in Afghanistan while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Some of his accomplishments post injury include enrolling and graduating from Lipscomb University, completing ten marathons and hand-cycling cross country. Ben also competes in various sports, such as basketball and sled hockey, where he was recently selected to attend an invite-only Paralympic camp. Ben plans on trying out for the USA sled hockey team in the spring of 2016, with hopes of serving his country further in the 2018 Paralympics.
