Sophia was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma cancer at the age of 2. Half way through treatment the doctors and her mom talked what would be the best next step to save Sophia’s life and that’s when we decided to amputate Sophia’s leg. Sophia had an above the knee amputation 1 week before her 3rd birthday. She is now 5 years old and in remission!

Sophia’s family first heard about Bulow OPS via a referral from the surgeon that helped her. Since her procedure, one of Sophia’s biggest accomplishments she is most proud of as an amputee is to be able to walk again with her ‘robot leg’! She loves playing outside and riding her bike. The perfect day to Sophia is a warm sunny day playing outdoors with her brother and her momma. She is a sweet, loving girl and a super hero in many people’s eyes for what she has overcome at such a young age. Don’t give up, even if it is hard at first – it will get easier in time!
